Frequently asked questions

How does the color palette generator work?

Upload one to four images and choose between 3 and 10 colors for a shared palette. Each photo contributes equally. Photo cards lets you choose one color from each photo instead. Automatic extraction groups similar sampled pixels into representative colors. Images with fewer distinct colors return fewer swatches. Use the eyedropper to sample a specific visible pixel.

What can I upload?

Up to four JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF files, each up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. GIFs use a still frame. Fully transparent pixels are excluded. White is included unless you select Exclude white from palette.

Can I create a palette from a Pinterest image?

Yes. Save an image you have permission to use to your device, then upload the file here. This tool works with uploaded images; it does not import Pinterest links or extract images from boards.

Can I download my palette as a Pinterest pin?

Yes. Choose a layout for your photo count, customize the text and colors, and download a 1000 × 1500 PNG. Downloads are free, with no signup needed. Use your own images or images you have permission to publish.

What does Continue in PinEasy do?

It keeps your finished design in this browser for up to seven days while you sign in or create an account. Studio opens the design as a finished Pin. You choose the details and board and review it before publishing or scheduling.

What does Save to library keep?

Sign in to save your colors, resized source photos, layout, photo-card names and display settings to your account. Older saved palettes open as color-only designs so they never borrow an unrelated photo.
